Happy Half Term – Saint Gregory's Bath

Manchester and South Yorkshire to move to tier 3 restrictions - Your Money

Sheffield, along with the rest of South Yorkshire, will at midnight move into the ‘very high’ category, in the Government’s new three-level alert system.  

This means we will be subject to further restrictions from Saturday 24 October, which are designed to reduce the spread of COVID-19.  

The full lock down in the spring showed us that by doing the basics we can stop the spread of the virus. These basics don’t change - stay 2 metres from others, wash your hands, wear a face covering and stay home if you have symptoms and get a test.  We hope you enjoy half term, with your household or support bubble, but please stop further contact with people you don’t live with, to help us get back to normal quicker

The restrictions

  • You cannot meet anyone from another household in any indoor setting or in a private garden or at most outdoor hospitality venues and ticketed events, unless they are part of your support bubble
  • You can still meet people from other households outdoors – in a public space such as a park or public garden (but not in a private garden) - in groups of six people or fewer
  • Schools and universities will remain open

With the news that Sheffield moves into into Tier 3 on Saturday, please can I urge you all to wear a face covering  when picking up  and dropping off your children. Staff will also be wearing a face covering at these times.

We really do appreciate how supportive you have all been with our start and end of the day routines . However there is still an issue, particularly on the playground and in the Church Yard as social distancing is difficult to achieve.

By wearing face coverings at these key times, you will continue to support us in keeping everyone safe.

Next half term please make sure that all children attend school with a warm coat , water bottle and lunch if they have packed lunches.

 

Parents of Y2,Y4 nd Y5 children

When dropping off and collecting your child, please do not allow them to play on Father Marks garden at the front of his house.

Father Mark, has been extremely kind in allowing us to use his driveway but has asked that the children stay off the grass as they are now destroying it.

Another fantastic week at St Josephs - with everyone working incredibly hard.

This weeks superstar children are :

Nursery - Lola - for excellent listening and for always trying her very best.

Reception - Rex - for being a super helper and tidying up the classroom.

Y1-Beth - for her fantastic learning at home!

Y2-Emily -  She has shown great resilience with her maths this week.  We have all been finding bar models and word problems difficult, and Emily has persevered to the point where she could independently dissect the known and unknown values in word problems to match it to a bar model.  

Y3-Frankie for his online learning and completing the 2dos on Purple Mash

Y4-  Annabel - because she always tries her hardest, is enthusiastic to learn and always contributes in lessons.

Y5-Ellie she’s worked really hard and tried her best both during home learning and at school

Y6- Emily - for her very thoughtful propaganda poster.

I would also like to say a huge thank you to all of our amazing staff, for everything they have done this half term - they really are our super heroes !

Please can I remind you  to keep us informed of anyone in your household who is displaying any symptoms of Covid-19, as well as the results of any Covid-19 tests. If you should receive a positive test result for your child , or another member of your household, during the half term holiday  please email the school  directly  office@st-josephs.sheffield.sch.uk.
