The Y6 Performance of The Tempest

We are incredibly proud of all of our Y6 children - they really are very special  young people.

Last week they entertained us all with their performance of Shakespears Tempest. 

The Summer Fair

A huge thank you to all of the FRIENDS of St Josephs for  their hard work all year in raising funds for our school. 

The Summer Fair was another success and they raised the staggering  amount of £3300 !

This year we have used the funds to purchase new furniture for our library area and also to subsidise all of our trips amd visits. We have also used it to provide  a special treat  a theatre production in school.

Look out for our new outdoor reading area !

This event really celebrated all of the hard work and creativity that has been going on in school this year. Our new "Creative Curriculum,"  has been exciting and has engaged all of the children.

The exhibition, really did showcase beautifully all of the talent in our school.

Thanks to our wonderful Y6 team of children, who carried  out their tasks beautifully -  such a credit to our school.

Thank you to all of our visitors who came to see our exhibition- we hope you enjoyed it .

We have some amazing ideas to develop our curriculum further - next year is going to be a very exciting one for all of our children.

A Fantastic Year

All of our children have worked extremely hard this year. We were very proud of the way that our Y2 and Y6 children approached their SATS , with much positivity and determination. All of the children did well and should be very proud of themselves.

We are also  proud of the progress that all of  our children have made this year. The children in Y4 deserve a special mention as they have all done very well. Congratulations also to Miss Addlestone , who has passed her NQT year with flying colours !

St Josephs is officially a healthy school !

Mrs Fern, our PHSE lead , has been working hard all year compiling the evidence to support us being considered a "Healthy School." Last week, we received the confirmation that we are and that we are making a real commitment to improving the health and wellbeing of all in our school.

Race For Life

On Tuesday the 16^th of July, all of the staff and children at St Josephs dressed in pink, to run their annual “Race for Life.” This year the race was run for the first time on the new track around the school field.

This year was particularly special, as the event was used to honour the late Jeff Mason. He was a key figure of St Joseph’s Parish, and a school Governor for many years.

Jeff had always had a keen interest in sport and had been a PE teacher in his youth. Tragically he had an accident when cycling when he was younger, this left him paralysed and in a wheelchair for the rest of his life. Jeff didn’t let this burden hold him back and continued to support the school, lead scout groups, and manage cricket teams and much more. He truly was an inspirational man!

When he passed away in 2017 he left St Josephs a sum of money. The school made sure that this was put to good use and had a mile track laid, around the beautiful school field. This track has been named, “Masons Mile, “in Jeff’s honour.

Jeff’s sister, Audrey, joined the school for the event. She said that the track was extremely fitting and that Jeff would have loved it. She said that if he had been with us, he would have led the race in his wheelchair!

Let’s put ourselves in the hands of our loving God and pray together

that He will bless all of us and our families

during the wonderful months of summer.
