Catholic Life of St Joseph's
The Catholic life and mission at St. Joseph's is evident in all aspects of school life. Positive relationships at all levels are built on mutual respect and love. There is a strong commitment to Catholic Social Teaching. Pupils recognise that they are following in the footsteps of Jesus and can reflect on this in their relationships, attitudes, and behaviour. The pupils are at the heart of the community, and they accept the responsibility to fulfil their Catholic mission. The Catholic life of the school is rich in opportunities for children to encounter God and to deepen their relationship with Him. Pupils work together to support Sheffield Children's Hospital, CAFOD, Operation Christmas Child, Good Shepherd, and the Handsworth foodbank.
As we raised £142 from donations at the Harvest Festival in October we decided to take the Liturgy Leaders shopping to use this money to shop to buy items that the Handsworth Foodbank have specifically asked for. Ten Liturgy Leaders walked with Mrs McFarlane and Mrs Harrand to Aldi and enjoyed selecting items such as tinned potatoes, rice, pasta and a few treats as well. We managed to fill a trolley and a small shopping basket.
