Year 5 - Groovy Greek Day!
Today, we came to school dressed as Ancient Greeks! We had a range of activities in Year 5 for the children to try based on Greek traditions. Firstly, the children created olive wreaths - just like the ones the Greeks used to wear in the Olympics! After break, we split into two groups and made houmous and danced the Greek Zorba - the children really did become Groovy Greeks! In the afternoon, the class wrote their names using the Greek alphabet and tried traditional Greek food.
"I enjoyed making the olive wreaths and trying new food." - Ruman
"I enjoyed trying new food and it was fun experiencing new things." - Bay
"I enjoyed the dancing, I found it interesting learning out about other cultures." - Daniella
